This picturesque town lies in a deep, meandering valley of the Vltava river in the very South of Bohemia, some 180 km south of Prague, near the border with Austria.

during 17th to 20th centuries princes of Liechtenstein transformed their estate into a vast park where the baroque and new-gothic architecture of castles combines with small constructions in romantic style and landscape adapted according to the English style of landscaping

Holašovice is unique and perfectly well preserved example of traditional Central European village
with a number of beautiful village houses from 18th and 19th century built in the so called „Southern Bohemian rural baroque“ style.

Holy Trinity Column

Villa Tugendhat

residential villa built on a southern slope of residential quarter Černá Pole with a view on the city centre, Špilberk and Petrov
the three-storey building consists of a steel frame with ceramic ceiling and steel columns

roman-gothic basilica of St. Prokop and Jewish quarter

basilica built in the half of 13th century in roman-gothic style
the most precious parts of the basilica are the crypt with original more than seven hundred years old wooden ceiling, stone cross vault, rosette in the eastern part of the apsis and the northern portal which is an exquisite stonework
the present look of the interior was created by Kamil Hilbert in 1924 – 1935
unique Jewish quarter with a high density of buildings, crooked narrow streets, dark nooks, arched passages and romantic little courts consists of more than 120 residential houses
original Jewish cemetery was relocated to the northern slope of Hrádek hill in the 17th century
full-grown park with a magic atmosphere hides about 3000 tombstones of which the oldest one dates back to the 1625
