The Old Town Square

The Old Town Square has been since the 10th century the center of the economic life of the city: originally a large market for all merchants comnig to Prague from close and distant destinations, it turned within centuries into the principal square serving as a gathering and social and political events venue: it was here where the protestant noblemen and leading merchants were executed after the defeat in the Battle of the White Mountain, it was here where the newly born Czehoslovakian Republic was celebrated in 1918, or the Communist putsch in 1948 announced and confirmed. 

Not only the famous Oltd own Hall with the Astronomical clock and beatiful gothic building, but all the houses here have teir long and notable history.
